A restaurant marketing platform built by a two-person team
zeskanuj.com was a marketing platform for restaurants that used QR codes. I was responsible for the architecture, backend, data model, infrastructure and CI/CD, and for technical oversight of the frontend.
Problem
With two developers and a limited schedule, we had to set up the architecture, an admin panel, an API, infrastructure and a deployment process. Writing our own internal panel would have added work without giving the product anything.
Result
Filament covered the admin requirements without a separate frontend, which kept the scope down. Development stopped before a beta when the funding ended, not because of a technical problem. There were no beta users, so I don’t have usage data from this project.
Decisions and implementation
- Designed the application architecture and the PostgreSQL data model.
- Built the Laravel 11 backend and the REST API used by the React frontend.
- Used FilamentPHP for the admin and content side, so we didn’t have to build a separate internal panel from scratch.
- Set up Redis, Docker and a GitHub Actions pipeline, and deployed the system on Hetzner.
- Reviewed the frontend against the architecture and product requirements and coordinated the technical side of the work.
